Deem AI

Deem AI is a next-generation B2B accounting platform designed to simplify and automate complex financial workflows for small and medium-sized businesses. The goal of the project was to create an intuitive, intelligent, and highly efficient user experience that empowers finance teams to manage their operations with accuracy, speed, and confidence.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Many businesses rely on fragmented tools for invoicing, expense tracking, payroll, and financial reporting. This leads to inefficiencies, manual errors, and poor financial visibility. Existing accounting platforms often feel overwhelming, especially for non-technical users. Deem AI set out to deliver a unified, user-friendly solution that automates financial processes while maintaining professional-grade precision.

A simplified, mobile-friendly process for capturing receipts, categorizing expenses, and automating approvals. AI suggestions reduce manual categorization errors.

A secure, structured payroll module that automates salary calculations, tax deductions, employee records, and payroll scheduling.

With the main structure of the screens agreed, I spent a chunk of time exploring UI options. There was no established design system for the product, so part of this was introducing some consistency and documentation for common patterns. I also explored some transitions between screens using Principle to prototype animations.

FINAL UI AND BUILD

We then created the final UI in close collaboration with engineering to make sure all the behaviours and edge cases were covered. We worked closely with the QA team to test builds before releasing.
